To All my Jewish Friends, the World Over...

...keep the fast, as I do the same. I have been derisively called 'a Jew' for observing Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

Being a "Jew" is in my blood, from back in the late 1700s. I cannot claim I am a Jew, as my mother was Greek, and half-Polish. On my father's side, however, that is where the sparks flow.

But today, proclaiming you are a Jew has its consequences, doesn't it?

I still, every year, observe Yom Kippur, as I wish everyone would. A whole day of fasting? Ouch, you may say, but if you try it, you might find it very beneficial to deny yourself food for ONE day!

Fasting for a day just might show you something about yourself!
