Years ago, when I shot only black and white...

...certain buildings were being torn down on Wisconsin Avenue to make way for the Grand Avenue Mall.

In the late summer of 1980, I ventured down to the ecavation and shot this, through excessive heat, humidity, and over-bearing mosquitoes.

This was on the western wall of the Woolworth building, depicting a time long gone, even then.

(Because GOOGLE is behaving stupidly again, please click the little square.  I am soooooo going to change over to wordpress, or somewhere.  Google has upset me enough to do so!)

Go here, for the update on what Grand Avenue is today.

Sad, soooooo sad.  In the 80s I lived just a short block away...and shopped the Grand Avenue many times...until the black gangs took it over.
