Stickney 'sludge cooker' to cost taxpayers $264M

Chicago-area taxpayers will pay $264 million during the next two decades for a giant sewage-cooking machine in west suburban Stickney, officials announced today as they revealed the project's operating costs have jumped 40 percent higher than previous estimates.
