From My Window: This evening's fog...

...looking from northeast to northwest
at 6:45 PM CDT.

Oh, almost forgot...Chicago's many miles of beaches were shut down today due the fog and the fear that the lifeguards might not be able to spot a swimmer in trouble.

Apparently, we are all too stupid and cannot take care of ourselves properly and responsibly while at the beach on yet another 90 degree day.

More Rogers Park fog: Until the sun burns it off

A view from my window on 30JAN2010, showing the Farcroft (high-rise) and the city of Evanston, which is about two and half or three miles away (as the crow flies).

This morning, yesterday's fog continues to hover, and the Farcroft is indistinguishable, though it is less than 700 FEET away!

Traffic on Sheridan Road is slower than usual, again, due to lack of visibility.

For those of you who are not familiar with this area of Rogers Park, Lake Michigan is about a block away to the right in these shots.

Rogers Park Fog

The corner of Sheridan Road and Chase Avenue, looking south, at about 9:45 PM. Traffic was moving slower than usual.

Quest Network Services, at 7301 N. Sheridan Road

Even shooting from the curb shows how dense the fog is tonight.

Be extra careful out there! It's pretty much like "pea soup"!
