Found in Evanston.

When you visit Louisville,

get this cane.

Papa John Lukis did.
and he's no fan of any Chicago team.

BTW, Papa John uses this cane to help him walk.  Period.

My new video...

Doors of Italy.

Hope you like it?

Weiner the wiener had no class...

Guess he never saw this?

There was a tumultuous hullabalu over Streisand (a Jewess) kissing Sharif (an Egyptian)...

...and just look at what has happened since?

BTW, Huma is of Iranian and Pakistani descent.

And the expected Weiner child shall be brought up as a....

If that don't beat all, huh?

Sure.  The Obamas have been compared to the Kennedys ad infinitum, haven't they?

They sure look like Jack and Jackie, don't they?

Especially when Michelle wears a THONG with an evening dress...Jacqueline, were she still alive, would approve, right, because she was married to a Democrat...and whatever Dems do is OK, right?

Well, if you have read, the Kennedys were pretty amped up and down with pharmaceuticals--and I expect the situation is similar with the Obamas.

She is either fearful of being "doped up to high heaven" to attend this sham dinner, OR she is just 'doped up' as usual (menopausal be-yotch)..  No woman with training LIFTS the haunches of her gown, ever!

Then I noticed this on my sidebar, and because Google is playing its stupid political games, you, my readers, are forced to view this ugliness:

"1963 John F. Kennedy names Winston Churchill U.S. honorary citizen
"

Soooo. As I am finally getting back to my 'old mode' of carping about politics, I have to ask the pResident:

"What is it you didn't like about Churchill?  I realize Churchill was way before 'YOUR time' BUTT, what did you not care for about Winston Churchill, as he was designated an honorary citizen of the US by President Kennedy?

Are you dishonoring Jack Kennedy's judgment, and therefore his presidency, because he and most of his family are no longer alive to defend themselves? "

Luciano vs. Andrea

Each has a beautiful tradition in operatic voice.

Luciano was from Modena; Andrea is from Bologna.

Believe me, there is a great difference in the accents between these two cities (I've visited both), yet it is almost magical to be able to listen to each of their voices, isn't it?

While I was thinking of Luciano...

..why not listen to his rendition of "CARUSO"?

CARUSO
by artist Lucio Dalla

poi all'improvviso uscì una lacrima

confondono i pensieri.

TRANSLATION

Here, where the sea shines
and the wind howls,
on the old terrace beside the gulf of Sorrento,
a man embraces a girl
he wept after,
then clears his throat and continues the song:

I love you very much,
very, very much, you know;
it is a chain by now
that melts the blood inside the veins, you know…

He saw the lights out on the sea,
thought of the nights there in America,
but they were only the fishermen’s lamps
and the white wash astern.
He felt the pain in the music
and stood up from the piano,
but when he saw the moon emerging from a cloud
death also seemed sweeter to him.
He looked the girl in the eyes,
those eyes as green as the sea.
Then suddenly a tear fell
and he believed he was drowning.

I love you very much,
very, very much, you know,
it is a chain by now
that melts the blood inside the vein you know…

The power of opera,
where every drama is a hoax;
with a little make-up and with mime
you can become someone else.
But two eyes that look at you,
so close and real,
make you forget the words,
confuse your thoughts,
So everything became small,
also the nights there in America.
You turn and see your life
through the white wash astern.
But, yes, it is life that ends
and he did not think so much about it
on the contrary, he already felt happy
and continued his song:

I love you very much,
very, very much, you know,
it is a chain by now
that melts the blood inside the veins, you know…

I love you very much,
very, very much, you know,
it is a chain by now
that melts the blood inside the veins, you know…

But, it was done better by Luciano...in 1980

O, Luciano, mi manchi!

For Your Enjoyment, and Mine

Nessun Dorma
Puccini: Turandot

Nessun dorma! Nessun dorma!
Tu pure, o, Principessa,
nella tua fredda stanza,
guardi le stelle
che tremano d'amore
e di speranza.
Ma il mio mistero è chiuso in me,
il nome mio nessun saprà!
No, no, sulla tua bocca lo dirò
quando la luce splenderà!
Ed il mio bacio scioglierà il silenzio
che ti fa mia!
(Il nome suo nessun saprà!...
e noi dovrem, ahime, morir!)
Dilegua, o notte!
Tramontate, stelle!
Tramontate, stelle!
All'alba vincerò!
vincerò, vincerò!
English Translation of "Nessun Dorma"
Nobody shall sleep!...
Nobody shall sleep!
Even you, o Princess,
in your cold room,
watch the stars,
that tremble with love and with hope.
But my secret is hidden within me,
my name no one shall know...
No!...No!...
On your mouth I will tell it when the light shines.
And my kiss will dissolve the silence that makes you mine!...
(No one will know his name and we must, alas, die.)
Vanish, o night!
Set, stars! Set, stars!

At dawn, I will win! I will win! I will win!

Obviously, Google has no idea of what it is doing...I merely wanted you all to see the lyrics.

Are they RACIST?  Or something?

We All Need This, To Do This...

...after, and in spite of, the past several weeks.

As a matter of fact, it wouldn't hurt that much to say a prayer EVERY day, would it, for our own and others SAFETY in this "getting-really-crappy-lately" world?

THE PRAYER

I pray you’ll be our eyes
And watch us where we go
And help us to be wise
In times when we don’t know

Let this be our prayer
When we lose our way
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace
To a place where we’ll be safe
La luce che to dai

I pray we’ll find your light
Nel cuore restero
And hold it in our hearts
A ricordarchi che
When stars go out each night
L’eterna stella sei
Nella mia preghiera
Let this be our prayer
Quanta fede c’e
When shadows fill our day
Lead us to a place
Guide us with your grace

Give us faith so we’ll be safe.
Sognamo un mondo senza piu violenza
(We dream of a world with little violence)

Un mondo di giustizia e di speranza(A world of justice and hope)
Ognuno dia la mano al suo vicino
Simbolo di pace e di fraternita(Where everyone near raises his hand
In peace and brotherhood)

La forza che ci dai
We ask that life be kind
E’il desiderio che
And watch us from above
Ognuno trovi amore
We hope each soul will find
Intorno e dentro a se
Another soul to love

Let this be our prayer
Let this be our prayer
Just like every child
Just like every child

Needs to find a place,
Guide us with your grace
Give us faith so we’ll be safe
E la fede che
Hai acceso in noi
Sento che ci salvera
