When I first ventured into Italy, in 1982, I felt is was a stage-set. But I found better. And I felt I had been there before...it was my home...and I am not Italian, at all.

f I could at all impart to you the scent as my cousin and I disembarked the train one night in Genova-Nervi, you would immediately want to bottle it!

It was a floral, mixed with the Mediterranean--a heavy, yet almost light odor of history.
